The goods are in the back

New York City is near and dear to my heart. At the impressionable age of 16, I spent my first summer away from home at a pre-college program at Pratt Institute. After high school, I returned to the city for my freshman year of college at SVA. There are so many neighborhoods and places to explore, and my time there wasn't enough to cover every place of interest. Earlier this year during the peak of summer, I went back for a weeklong trip and a green thumb recommended a visit to Crest Hardware in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Hardware and home improvement goods are sold in the front and the back opens into a lush urban garden and greenhouse.

My short, week-long trip was very nostalgic — ennui abounds.
